Adaptive Yoga

Come join Ms. Brooke, an accomplished yoga instructor! This 6-week long session is designed to support persons with special needs. Participants will be involved in yoga poses, breathing exercises and deep relaxation. The class will also include interactive games to promote social interaction. Topics will include mindfulness, compassion for others and meditation. These practices work together to balance physiological and cognitive functions, enhancing physical, cognitive, emotional and social development. A maximum of 9 participants.
Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring their own yoga mat.

Ms. Brooke will provide yoga instruction. If you think your child may need extra supervision in a park, your supervision is recommended.

Please find attached map for meeting place at Bloomer Park. Participant is responsible for paying entry fee to Bloomer Park IF and WHEN fees are reinstated for weekdays.

Nature Programs with Rochester Hills

Adaptive Fun with Animals

October 22 5:30-6:30 @ Bloomer Park

14+ Years $6/person

This program is designed for people with disabilities. Join us for a fun session with a Rochester Hills Naturalist learning about animals that can be found within our communities. The Naturalist will provide animal skins, pelts, and other props to see. If weather permits, we may even experience real-live animals!


Picnic in the Park/Dinner at RARA

In lieu of Diners Club, we will be meeting with Ms. Wendy at Bloomer Park's Stone Shelter to enjoy a picnic dinner together in September and October. In November and December we will be enjoying our dinner together at RARA. Each participant is expected to pack their own dinner and drink. Spots are limited due to social distancing. Fitness Walk with Ms. Wendy

For persons with developmental disabilities ages 14+. This 4-week group will be led by Ms. Wendy on the Paint Creek Trail for a good cardio fitness walk. Parents are welcome to participate too! Wear gym clothes and shoes. Bring your water bottle. We will meet at the West Entrance of the Rochester Hills Library.

Wednesdays September 9-30 from 5:30-7:00 - Session1 

Thursdays October 1-October 29 NO WALK October 22. 5:00-6:30 - Session 2

$20 for 4 weeks

Movie Pizza Night

Enjoy a movie and a pizza snack with friends, one Friday a month from September-April from 6:30-9:00. This opportunity is designed to support persons with special needs.

October 9, November 13, and December 11.
