3-6 Years Judo

Judo classes are taught by a certified USJF black belt with over 30 years of teaching experience, including 7 years in adaptive programming for peoples with special needs. Class emphasizes safety and respect for others while being fun as well. Beginner Judokas will learn to fall safely, as well as master the fundamentals of basic Judo (throwing and pinning; there are no kicks and punching) and can eventually earn belt ranks. Just wear long sleeve sweats tops and bottoms. Gis (uniforms) can be purchased from the instructor when the participant decides on a gi.

 This program meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at RARA from 5:15-6:00.

Start Smart Move and Play

 The Start Smart Move and Play program is a developmentally appropriate introductory fine and gross motor skills program for children 2-3 years old. Developing these motor skills in a safe, fun and age appropriate environment will ensure that the participants gain strength and confidence in their body. It will help them get exercise and physical activity. Finally, developing these skills will help a child’s ability to do more complex skills in future activities, whether it’s playing a sport, doing school projects or drawing/painting.


Parent participation is required. This class will take place at RARA.

Start Smart Sports Development: Multi-Sport

The Start Smart Sports Development Program is a developmentally appropriate introductory sports program for children 3-5 years old. The program prepares children and their parents for organized sports in a fun, non-threatening environment. Age appropriate equipment from Franklin Sports® is utilized in the program. Sports skills developed in this program are: throwing, catching, batting and kicking.

Parent participation required

Little V's Soccer Program with Vardar Soccer

Little V's is a beginner soccer program for toddlers and young children, aged 3-6 years old. Our program provides a safe and fun learning environment for your child to become engaged with soccer at its foundation. Your child will reach basic, early developmental milestones in balance, coordination, socialization, and emotional development. Little V's helps prepare the Vardar soccer stars of the future! 3-6 years

Cute Christmas Craft

Holiday Fingerprint / Finger Painting Crafts for Kids — KinderArt

Does your young artist love to get messy with paint? Do you hate to clean up after them? Then this is the perfect class for both of you! Your child will use their fingers to paint a Christmas tree complete with a colorful string of lights. This is going to be a messy one so please dress your child appropriately. Challenge Island is an award-winning STEAM enrichment program where kids solve fun, hands-on “challenges” which teach them about STEAM fundamentals, crosscurricular topics, plus important success skills like creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and much more. Students work together in small ""tribes"" to solve our challenges, giving them an opportunity to grow their teamwork and social skills as well. We look forward to seeing you on Challenge Island!

DC Heroes STEAM Class

In honor of Martin Luther King Day, join us for for a double dose of Washington DC-based STEAM challenges!  First, we'll recreate the National Mall to simulate the setting for MLK's ""I Have a Dream"" speech, then we experiment with the power of magnetism to move the marchers around town!  After that, we'll head to the Supreme Court Building to learn about Ruth Bader Ginsburg and test our balancing skills by creating our own ""Scales of Justice"".  Join us for this fun combination of history and STEAM which brings these giants of history to life!

In this special Valentine-themed evening session, we'll be experimenting with elasticity and projectiles as we design, test and compete in ""Cupid's Practice Parlor""; we'll also create a special batch of our heart-colored ice cream slime that each child will get to take home with them!

March Tallness and Smallness STEAM Class

In this special March salute to NCAA March Madness and also St. Patrick's Day, we'll learn about the math behind a basketball tournament as we build and play in our own basketball arenas (complete with catapult shooters), then we go from tall to small as we create our own leprechaun traps just in time to catch the wee ones before they get our gold!

Earth Day in the Jungle STEAM Class

In celebration of Earth Day, we'll tackle a pair of jungle-themed challenges.  First, we'll learn about the size and power of anacondas as our teams create their own spiral race down our rainforest trees; then, we'll swing through the jungle as we build and test ziplines for our special monkey friends!

Rainforest Island STEAM Series

In this special Challenge Island ""weekend camp"" series, we'll take on a different rainforest-themed challenge each week as we learn fun facts and experiment with STEAM principles to bring the rainforest to life!  Here's the destinations we plan to visit each week:
