Families of the Rochester Avon Recreation Authority (RARA):
As of 5pm, under the direction of the RARA board comprised of community liaisons, staff, and council members from Avondale School District, Rochester Community Schools, City of Rochester and City of Rochester Hills we feel it necessary to close our facilities in accordance with State and Local agency recommendations to help with social distancing as a community mitigation strategy over the next 48 days. Our goal is to reopen April 30. Our programs that are currently running will be postponed and rescheduled for completion on or after April 30, 2020. Our Staff will be working remotely during this time with the anticipation current activities will be rescheduled and future activities will be running without delay.
COVID-19 updates and information are rapidly changing every hour. We will continue to relay relevant information as it pertains to the safety of our community and its influence on our existing timeline of activities. Please continue following our website, emails, and social media for current information and we will inform our participants through these resources as the situation evolves over the next 48 days. Our goal has always been to provide recreational services in a safe, reliable environment that is in the best interest of our community, we will continue to do so without hesitation.
